GIF to JPG Converter

Convert a GIF's first frame to a compact JPG image — right in your browser, no upload required.

About GIF to JPG Converter

This tool converts a GIF image to JPG format entirely in your browser. Because JPG is a single-image format, only the GIF's first frame is used — any animation in the source file is not preserved. JPG's lossy compression typically produces a much smaller file than the source GIF, and since JPG has no alpha channel, any transparent pixels in that frame are filled with white. A quality slider lets you balance file size against visual quality. Everything happens locally in your browser, so your image is never uploaded anywhere.

FAQ

Will the animation be preserved?
No. JPG is a single-image format, so only the GIF's first frame is converted — the animation itself isn't kept. If you need the animation, keep the file as a GIF.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG doesn't support transparency, so any transparent parts of the GIF's first frame are filled with white in the converted file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device.
Is there a file size limit?
Each file can be up to 25MB, to keep things reliable on mobile browsers.
