About MP4 Compressor

MP4 Compressor shrinks your .mp4 files down to a smaller size while keeping them playable everywhere — on any phone, camera app or streaming service, with no format change needed. A quality slider lets you trade a bit of sharpness for a smaller file, so you decide how far to push it. The compressed file is also optimized to start playing immediately once it's downloaded or shared, instead of making the viewer wait for it to load first. Everything happens right here in your browser — your device does the work instead of a server, so your footage is never uploaded anywhere.

How to compress an MP4

  1. 1

    Add your MP4s

Drag and drop your .mp4 files, or click to browse. You can add several at once.

  2. 2

    Pick a quality

Use the slider or a quick preset, then click Compress. A progress bar shows you how it's going — everything happens on your device, so it can take a few minutes for a longer clip.

  3. 3

    Download

Save each file individually, or download every compressed file at once as a .zip.

FAQ

Will compressing my MP4 lose quality?
Yes, a little — making a video smaller always means giving up a bit of sharpness. At the default 80% quality the difference is rarely visible; raise the slider if you want to be extra safe, or lower it for the smallest possible file.
Does the compressed file stay an MP4?
Yes — this tool compresses, it doesn't convert. The output is still an .mp4 file that plays anywhere the original did, just at a smaller size.
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression happens entirely on your device, inside your browser — your files never get sent anywhere.
Is there a file size limit?
Each file can be up to 300MB, and up to 5 files per batch, to keep things reliable in the browser.
